Have you always been involved in fitness or exercise?
Yes, I trained at Greg Williams Hi Tech Fitness gym with Leo Jensens. I’ve always been keen on running, surfing, basketball and was even state rep in hockey!!

I’ve been here at Planet Fitness for 24 years and Hi Tech Fitness before that. I’ve known Dallas since 1979/1980.
Did you have a goal when you first joined Planet Fitness?
To get fit and stay fit! With strength and cardio training I’ve maintained my weight for 20 years!
Have you achieved what you originally set out to do?
Yes! I’ve achieved what I set out to do all those years ago, I’ve remained happy and healthy.
What was your perception of gyms/health clubs before you joined? Has it changed after joining Planet Fitness?
No it hasn’t changed, I’ve always enjoyed the gym environment that Planet Fitness has provided.
What are your fitness goals for the future?
To keep/stay fit and to keep on the right side of the dirt!
Biggest obstacles you have had to overcome on your fitness journey?
I have a couple of old injuries from surfing and riding my motorbikes but nothing that keeps me down for long.
Do you have any sources of inspiration? If so, who/what are they?
Stubbornness! And in the words of the famous Bee Gees “ah ah ah stayin’ alive!”
What is your weekly fitness regime?
On Tuesdays I do cardio on bikes and rowing, with pin and plate loaded machines. On Fridays I do cardio and free weights with Gary Thorogood’s expertise of light weights and lots of reps.
I have two; “go hard or go home” and “use it or lose it”.
